About the Global CBPR System
Global Cross Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) Certification
The Global CBPR System was developed to provide a simple and transparent system that can be used by organizations for the protection of personal information that moves across jurisdictions. The Global CBPR System bridges differing national privacy laws among Global CBPR Forum Members, reducing barriers to the flow of information for global trade.
The Global CBPR System provides a means for organizations to transfer personal information across jurisdictions in a manner in which allows consumers to trust that their personal information is protected. The Global CBPR System allows businesses to demonstrate their commitment to consumer privacy by showcasing their compliance with internationally-recognized data protection and privacy standards.

Global CBPR System certified companies are eligible to display the above certification mark to indicate their participation in the Global CBPR System, thereby demonstrating they have met the internationally-recognized data protection and privacy standards set forward in the Global CBPR System Program Requirements.
About the Global PRP System
Global Privacy Recognition for Processors (PRP) Certification
The Global PRP System was designed to help data processors demonstrate their capacity for processing of personal information and assure that processing is at a minimum consistent with a controller’s applicable requirements for processing under the Global CBPR System.

Global PRP System certified companies are eligible to display the above certification mark to indicate their participation in the Global PRP System, thereby demonstrating they have met the internationally-recognized data protection and privacy standards set forward in the Global PRP System Program Requirements.
Getting Certified
Certification is provided by Accountability Agents, third-party organizations that have been recognized by the Forum. Only Forum-recognized Accountability Agents have the authority to certify a company’s compliance with the Global CBPR and/or Global PRP System Program Requirements.
Global CBPR and Global PRP certification is currently available to companies headquartered in Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and the United States.
